Journal of Applied Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology is a very diverse, multidisciplinary field that deals with developing novel materials and devices with at least one dimension sized from 1 to 100 nm. This is a novel scientific approach defined as the design, development, and application of materials & devices capable of manipulating physical as well as chemical properties of a substance at molecular levels. Meanwhile, biotechnology deals with the development of products and services by manipulating molecular, genetic, and cellular processes through the knowledge and techniques of biology. An amalgamation of these two technologies i.e. nanobiotechnology is a discipline in which tools are developed from nanotechnology and further applied to study biological phenomena. Through this methodology, classical micro-technology can be combined with a molecular biological approach in real life. Nanobiotechnology can integrate advanced applications of information technology & nanotechnology into current biological issues. This technology is still at its early stages of expansion but the development in this field is multi-directional and fast-paced. By extensive use of this technology, many new challenges and directions may arise in education, research & diagnostics fields. Applications of nanobiotechnology can play a remarkable role in the field of medicine, agriculture, electronics, wastewater treatment, biomaterials, and energy production in the near future. It also provides possibilities for generating new materials and methods that may enhance our ability to develop faster, reliable, and more sensitive analytical systems. Worldwide, special interest groups and governments are concerned about the several issues related to the toxicity and environmental impact of nanomaterials. Multiple challenges are associated with nanobiotechnology such as to develop reverse systems and tools for evaluation of the impact of nanoengineered materials on health and the environment over the entire life span, high production costs, absence of clear regulatory guidelines, a well-established nanometre-scale industry and scarcity of venture funds. Despite these disputes, there is immense hope for this technology in the future.

The Journal of Applied Nanotechnology is a multidisciplinary journal that publishes papers of highest quality and significance thus serving as an effective platform for the promotion of scientific exchange between material scientists and biomedical researchers. This journal seeks papers covering all areas of biology, nanoscience, and nanotechnology. The journal covers research areas like designing of nano-engineered materials, classes of materials and their structures, devices, and systems that involve the manipulation and control of those materials and structures at atomic, molecular and macromolecular levels. The objective of the journal is to be the voice of the worldwide nanotechnology research communities by promoting the international exchange of new knowledge and by exploring the ideas of the scientific researchers on the most current topics of interest. The journal aims to serve the scientific community by attracting and soliciting high-quality original research papers featuring the most advanced topics on current research and developments in the nanobiotechnology field.
