Dr. Pranjal Chandra, MNASc

Dr. Pranjal Chandra is currently employed as Assistant Professor and principal investigator at the Department of Bio-Physio Sensors and Nanobioengineering, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, India. He earned his Ph.D. from Pusan National University, South Korea, and did post-doctoral training at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Israel. He has published over 85 research articles in reputed journals and 4 books. He is also a visiting scientist/ professor at IBST, South Korea. Dr. Chandra’s research contributions are highly interdisciplinary, spanning a wide range in nanobiotechnology, nanobiosensors, lab-on-chip systems for biomedical diagnostics, and nanomedicine. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards and fellowships such as; Ramanujan fellowship and Early Career Research Award (Government of India), BK -21 and NRF fellowship of South Korea, Technion post-doctoral fellowship, Israel, University of Montreal Post-doc fellowship, Canada, NMS Young scientist Award (2016), etc.

Dr. Tamaddon is a Research Associate at the Institute of Orthopaedics, Division of Surgery and Interventional Science at the University College London (UK) since 2014. Her work mainly focuses on regenerative therapies for musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Tamaddon completed her D.Phil at Oxford University and her undergraduate degree at the University of Birmingham in Materials Science. Her research interests include Tissue Engineering, Nanobiotechnology, Nanomedicine, and Synthetic Biology.

Dr. Ramesh K Agarwal

Dr. Agarwal is the William Palm Professor of Engineering in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science at Washington University in St. Louis. From 1994 to 2001, he was the Sam Bloomfield Distinguished Professor and Executive Director of the National Institute for Aviation Research at Wichita State University in Kansas. From 1978 to 1994, he was the Program Director and McDonnell Douglas Fellow at McDonnell Douglas Research Laboratories in St. Louis. Dr. Agarwal received Ph.D. in Aeronautical Sciences from Stanford University in 1975, an M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1969, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India in 1968. Over a period of 35+ years, Professor Agarwal has worked in various areas of Computational Science and Engineering – Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Computational Materials Science and Manufacturing, Computational Electromagnetics (CEM), and Multidisciplinary Design and Optimization. He has also worked in Nanotechnology and computational modeling of top-down Nanofabrication, in particular in nanoparticles properties, synthesis, and their applications in drug delivery and their health effects. He is the author and co-author of over 460 publications. He has given many plenary, keynote, and invited lectures at various national and international conferences worldwide. Professor Agarwal continues to serve on many academic, government, and industrial advisory committees. He has received many prestigious honors and national/international awards from various professional societies and organizations for his research contributions.

Dr. Vivek Borse

Dr. Borse is currently working as DST Inspire Faculty at Centre for Nanotechnology, IIT, Guwahati. His research interest includes interdisciplinary fields like Medical Device Development technology, NanoBiotechnology, BioNanoSensors, NanoDiagnostics, Preformulation and Formulation Development, Drug Delivery, etc. His expertise includes synthesis of quantum dot semiconductor nanocrystals, nanoparticle characterization techniques, bioconjugation techniques, development of biosensors, point-of-care lateral flow immunoassays, development of portable fluorescence detection devices. Dr. Borse is a Graduate in Pharmacy with Gold Medal and University First Rank from North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, Maharashtra. He has completed M. Tech. (Pharm.) from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali, Punjab. He has completed a Ph. D. from the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, IIT Bombay, Mumbai. He worked on multiple research projects in the area of BioMedical Engineering and his Ph. D. The overall project objective was to develop medical devices for the diagnosis of different kinds of disorders/diseases. He has been recognized with the “Award for Excellence in Thesis Work” for outstanding research contributions in the Ph. D. The award was presented by the honorable Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi in the 56th Convocation of IIT Bombay on 11th August 2018. He has more than 25 international journal publications, 1 book, 5 book chapters, 3 patents, and 9 trademark registrations to his credit. Many reputed institutions, national and international agencies have appreciated his work through numerous awards and honorariums.

Dr. Husam A Mohammed

Dr. Mohammed obtained his BSc in Electronics and Communication Engineering (1996) and his MSc. in Laser Applications in Electronics and Communication Engineering (2001) from Baghdad University. In 2002, Mr. Husam joined the college of Engineering at the University of Baghdad. He obtained his Ph. D. degree in Photonic and Fiber Optics System Engineering in the Department of Computer and Communication Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2018. Now, Husam is teaching postgraduate students in the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department since 2018. His research interest is optical fiber communication systems, Visible Light Communications (VLC), light fidelity (LIFI), optical code division multiplexing access (OCDMA), sensor multiplexing techniques, nanomaterial-based sensors, gas sensors, and optical fiber gas networks. Husam published many researches in the field of optical communications and gas sensors coated with nanomaterials as sensing layers.

Dr. Sunil K Singh

Dr. Singh has more than ten years of research experience in the field of Thrombus biology. Dr. Singh is currently working as Assistant Professor at the Department of Zoology, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, Punjab India. His research is focused on Thrombus biology, Nanomedicine and Nanobiosensor. Dr Singh received his Ph.D. degree in Biotechnology from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. Dr. Singh contributed impressively in the study of signaling pathways in human blood platelets for their role in blood coagulation (thrombosis) and hemostasis. Besides, explored the interface between Thrombus Biology and Nanotechnology and developed a miniaturized highly specific nano-bioengineered biocompatible sensor for the detection of cardiovascular diseases including athero-thrombotic, coronary artery diseases, and myocardial infarction. Research findings have been published in more than 30 internationally reputed journals including 3 papers in ACS Nano (IF~ 14.6) with one patent. Dr. Singh research publications have been cited more than 1700 times with h-index of 17 and i10-index of 22 (Source: Google Scholar) having a cumulative impact factor of more than160, Highest IF 14.6, Average IF: 5.4. Dr. Singh have written more than seven invited book chapters in the area of thrombus biology and nanomedicine for the Royal Society of Chemistry, Springer, and Wiley-Blackwell publications. In recognition of his significant contributions in the field of biomedical sciences, Dr. Singh have been awarded the prestigious NASI Young Scientist Platinum Jubilee Award 2015 and INSA Medal for Young Scientist, 2014 from the National Academy of Sciences Allahabad India and Indian National Academy of Sciences India respectively. Also selected for INSPIRE Faculty Award-2012, Department of Science and Technology India and the Foundation of Science and Technology (FCT) Postdoctoral Fellowship 2012, Portugal.
