Journal of Biomedical and Biological Sciences

Journal of Biomedical and Biological Sciences is a periodical journal that contains articles written by experts in this particular field of study. It is an open access journal with all articles immediately available to read and reuse upon publication. More information about our Open Access policy can be found on our https://snipub.com/open-access/.

The study of living organisms is known as Biology. Through taxonomy living, things can be classified. The taxonomic pecking order consists of domain, kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, and species. Bacteria, Archaea, and Eukaryota are three domains of life. The different kingdoms are Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Protists, Archaea, and Bacteria. Phyla are more specific. In kingdom Animalia, phyla are Chordata, Porifera, and Arthropoda. There are various classes in the kingdom Animalia including Mammalia, Aves, Reptilia, and many others. There are approximately 19-26 orders of Mammalia including Primates, Cetaceans, Carnivora, and Chiroptera. The family is more specific. Genus is the first part of an organism’s scientific name and the second part is the species name. Organisms can be arranged in the pecking order on the basis of their similarities and dissimilarities through biological classification.

Biomedical sciences or bioengineering is the amalgamation of biology and engineering. It focuses on the advances that improve human health and health care at all levels. This field applies principles and problem-solving techniques of engineering to biology and medicine. Some of the prominent breakthroughs of biomedical engineering throughout healthcare, from diagnosis and analysis to treatment and recovery are X-ray machines, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, artificial organs, prosthetics, surgical devices, pacemakers, and regenerative tissue growth. The discoveries in this field depend on the basic research in the fields of physical sciences, biological sciences, and medicine. The study of living organisms is known as Biology. Biomedical sciences apply engineering principles to understand, modify, or control living systems and has the power to translate biological knowledge into usable, economically viable products and practical, cost-effective solutions to ‘real world’ problems. Biological sciences comprise all the divisions of natural sciences from microorganisms, plants to animals examining various aspects of vital processes. It covers the research areas based on the cellular basis of the living system, energy metabolism, and the genetic basis for inheritance in organisms. On one hand, the study of biology can be very broad covering the whole planet earth and on the other hand, it may be very specific including the study on microscopic level including bacteria or DNA. Living things are complex organisms. Hormones are the chemical regulators called hormones through which living things are capable to respond efficiently to the changes in the environment. Moreover, they have the ability to reproduce and produce copies of them through the process known as reproduction. Evolution is the process through which living beings adapt to their environment. Ecology is termed as the study of relationships of organisms with their environment. Both biotic and abiotic factors are responsible for altering the environment. Many subdisciplines and special areas of biology exist, which contain many specializations within each field.
